Review & Swatches: MUA - Lip boom LMK

Hello everyone! Another review and swatches from UniqaPoly :) So today I'll write about a lipstick I got some time ago and I have already mentioned it in this post - NEW in May :) So this is actually a double product by MUA, called Lip Boom. On one side you have lipstick and on the other it's a glittery gloss.

I kinda had to try this after seeing it in one of Lisa Eldridge video tutorials, I really loved how the shade looked on her!

Well, actually I got this one second hand and maybe that also contributed to my final opinion about this product... maybe this is one of those rare times when I get something from someone else and it turns out not to be a good product... So I said it - it's not a good product and I'm not satisfied with this one. Which is actually also very rare - I actually kinda like or really love all the lip products I have :)

So you get 2,5g of lipstick and 3,5 ml of lip gloss. I like the idea that both product are in one, it's a good idea for taking it with you on the go. That is if the colours are a good match. Here I find the colours to be ok, but I would prefer a different gloss to go with this lippie.

What does this product promise? It promises to create fuller curvaceous lips and illusion of volume. There are 4 different ways you can use this - first is just lipstick for a matte look. Second you can apply the glossy highlighetr just one the center of your lips to create a full volume illusion. Third you can add gloss all over your lipstick for a super glossy look. Or you can use highlighter alone for a sheer pearl finish.

So what did I really get? Lipstick has been cut off and that part was used in a lipstick palette, but the rest was never used and I actually got unused product. The colour is amazing deep plummy burgundy. I love the colour of the lipstick. The gloss is not one of my favourites. I love glittery and shiny stuff, but this one simply has too big glittery parts and you can feel them on the lips, almost like a lip scrub... Simply a turn off for me. Still, it looks really good on the lips, if you can ignore the feeling.
I scrubbed my lips really well and applied lipstick straight from the bullet... and it looked chappy.. as you can see below on the swatches - on some parts there was this really dark colour and little bumps. I don't know why, because my lips were really smoothe - so it must have been the consistency of the lipstick. Also, it's a matte lipstick and I never had bad experiences with matte lipsticks but this one dries my lips in a matter of half an hour. With gloss on top or not  - in less than an hour my lips look terrible. Which is really unfortunate because the colour is amazing! And it's really pigmented, it leaves a lovely stain after it starts to fade and it still looks good. With gloss on top all over the lips it looks best, so I posted these two swatches. the rest I didn't like and the photos weren't good  so I posted only these two.

I don't know if it's only my lipstick like this, because I read that some shades from this Lip Boom range are really great, but this one is not that good at all. I can still find ways to use it, but this is really a product that I kinda avoid using.. It just takes so much more time to make an application that looks even half good... and I have so many lipsticks that are way better than this one...  It's not an expensive product so you can try it anyway, maybe some other shade.. or maybe just mine was a little weird and you will have the same shade and it will look perfect?.. I don't know, but maybe it will work for you :)

Thanks for reading and hope this was helpful to you!

Love, UniqaPoly
